SCENT OF FLESH is an Imatra based brutal Death Metal band dating to 2000. The 'Drowned Into The Darkness' demo was recorded in January of 2001. For these recordings the band employed a three guitar line up comprising lead vocalist Niko Ahokas, guitarists Matti Viisainen, Herkko Miiki and Markus Toivonen, bassist Sofian Gezuri with Antti Suikkanen on the drums. Relocating to Tampere, Toivonen left the band in the summer of 2001. SCENT OF FLESH persevered as a quintet, cutting the sophomore demo 'Towards Eternal Lost', which secured a deal with the Greek Black Lotus label.
Switching labels to Firebox Records the band issued the 2004 album 'Valour In Hatred'. SCENT OF FLESH parted ways with guitarist Herkko Miikki in November of 2004. The band, issuing an EP 'Become Malignity', acted as openers for the CHAOSBREED and GRAVE shows in Finland in March 2005. In July 2006 singer Niko Ahokas opted out and guitarist Matti Viisainen took over the vocal role. Firebox Records put out the 'Deform In Torture' album in 2007.
