On the 20th anniversary of the 1994 album The Division Bell, PINK FLOYD present the album in an extensively equipped box consisting of four vinyl records, a CD, a Blu-Ray disc and five art prints for collectors. In addition to the full original album as double vinyl in the cover of Hipgnosis / Storm, the 20th Anniversary box set "The Division Bell" includes the Discovery Remaster of the album from 2011, the single Take It Back in a replica of the red 7- Vinyls, a replica of the 7-inch single high-hopes in clear vinyl and a 12-inch replica of the song in blue vinyl with laser etched design. A Blu-Ray disc also contains the entire album in HD audio and a previously unpublished audio mix of the album in 5.1 Dolby Surround Sound by Andy Jackson. Also on the Blu-Ray disc: A newly shot video for the song Marooned, which was awarded 1994 with a Grammy as "Best Rock Instrumental". The clip was filmed by Aubray Powell for Hipgnosis in the first week of April 2014 in Ukraine! The audios for the clip are available in PCM stereo as well as in Jacksons 5.1 mix. The vinyl album was remixed on the basis of the analogue mastertapes by Doug Sax in the Masterin Lab.
The Division Bell was the last studio album by PINK FLOYD and was recorded in the cast David Gilmour, Nick Mason and Richard Wright. It has sold to a total of 12 million times and has catapulted itself to the top of the album charts in England, the USA and eight other countries (including Germany) - in the USA it lasted for four weeks. The recordings for The Division Bell took place on Gilmour's houseboat The Astoria and Britannia Row Studios, the majority of which was written by David Gilmour and his wife Polly Samson.
David Gilmour said at the time: "We went to Britannia Row Studios for the first time and improvised for 2 weeks. It was very interesting and exciting to play together again and to start at zero. It was a very good process, a real collaboration that was very closed. "The original was produced by Bob Ezrin and David Gilmour, while Michael Kamen worked on the orchestral arrangements. The Anniversary Box Set was remastered by longtime PINK FLOYD pioneers James Guthrie and Joel Plante. The album title, allegedly chosen by the British science fiction author and friend Gilmours Douglas Adams, refers to the bell of the Palace of Westminster, with which the British Parliament's deputies are called to vote , The Division Bell is not one of the PINK FLOYD concept albums, but it has the fundamental theme of communication. In Track Keep Talking, the electronic voice of the physicist Stephen Hawking, who speaks about the importance of language and communication, can be heard.
